Jason Hodgkiss

Honorary Treasurer
Specialist Member of the Faculty of Occupational Hygiene (MFOH(S)

A Qualified Occupational Hygienist with a specialist interest in Asbestos, I’ve been a member of BOHS since the BIOH were merged with the Society back in the early 1990’s.  I am currently a Specialist Member of the Faculty and a full member of FAAM.

In the past nine years, I served as a Regional Organiser and a 3-year term on the Faculty of Occupational Hygiene Committee. During the time on the FOH committee I was a member of the Working Group for ‘Driving Up Standards’ within the discipline.

I am currently a member of the BOHS International Engagement Group, a Trustee of the UK Branch of Workplace Health Without Borders (WHWB-UK), and on the advisory committee and communications team for Occupational Hygiene Training Association (OHTA).

Over the past year I have been the Occupational Hygienist on one of the largest construction projects happening in the UK, hopefully making a difference on the ground, and encouraging the Construction Industry contractors to focus, to a greater extent, on worker health protection.  My challenge is to at least get ‘Health’ equal billing to the more immediate and obvious ‘Safety’ in the ‘Health and Safety’ equation.
