A minimum of one of the occupational hygiene modules; or A BOHS accredited degree in occupational hygiene or Hold an IOHA-accredited professional qualification and working towards the Diploma (current list of eligible NAR qualifications available on the IOHA Website) |
Hold the BOHS Certificate of Operational Competence in Occupational Hygiene or the International Certificate of Operational Competence in Occupational Hygiene (ICertOH). | Hold the Diploma of Professional Competence in Occupational Hygiene | It is awarded only to applicants who have been in the Chartered Member level for at least five years and who can demonstrate seniority in the field of occupational hygiene and who also can demonstrate a distinct contribution to the advancement of the profession to the satisfaction of the Faculty Board |

Holder of: One of the BOHS Level 4 qualifications: P401, P402, P403, P404, P406, P408, S301, W504 Or RSPH Level 4 Certificate in Asbestos Laboratory and Project Management Or Other similar qualifications (please contact BOHS) Or one of the RSPH qualifications: Level 3 Award in Asbestos Bulk Analysis*, Level 3 Award in Asbestos Surveying*, Level 3 Award in Asbestos Air Monitoring and Clearance Procedures*. *Holders of these qualifications will be required to pass the written examination for the corresponding BOHS P module to bridge the gap between their Level 3 qualification and the required Level 4 qualification. BOHS Certificate of Competence in Asbestos |
There are two routes to this level of membership each of which will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience at a professional level.
For both routes, applicants will be expected to demonstrate that they meet the competency requirements shown in the current competency framework document. Applicants will be expected to demonstrate that they meet the competency requirements by completing an application and submitting supporting evidence. Application ProcessThe application consists of an application form (including your Personal Experience Portfolio) and a professional discussion. Once the application is approved, you will be invited to attend a professional discussion. On successful completion, you will be awarded Member level and be invited to join as a member. |

Hold the Certificate of Competence (CoC) in an Individual Subject and the W201 Basic Principles in Occupational Hygiene |
To be eligible you must: Hold an honour or postgraduate degree or equivalent qualification in a scientific or technological subject relevant to occupational hygiene, and have at least five years' experience in the specialist subject offered. Successfully pass the three stages of application. They are references, submission of work and a professional discussion.
