International Certificate in Occupational Hygiene (ICertOH)

This is the entry level professional qualification required to join the Faculty of Occupational Hygiene as a Licentiate and demonstrates knowledge and competence in the broad principles and practice of occupational hygiene.

This qualification follows on from the successful completion of the appropriate Occupational Hygiene modules or BOHS accredited degree. You should also have accumulated three years of relevant professional experience, to be eligible for the International Certificate in Occupational Hygiene.  

If you are awarded the International Certificate in Occupational Hygiene, you are entitled to use ‘ICertOH’ as post-nominal letters after your names.

The ICertOH is the principal qualification at intermediate level within the OHTA International Training Scheme and Qualifications Framework. OHTA has appointed BOHS as an awarding body under the scheme and BOHS makes awards (W201 & W500 level modules and ICertOH) in accordance with arrangements agreed with OHTA.

Level

The level of a qualification indicates the relative complexity and depth of knowledge and skills required to attain the qualification.

This is a level 6 qualification in the BOHS qualifications framework, equivalent to NVQ Level 6.

Online Assessment

Applicants should note that some of the components of this qualification are assessed online, and therefore access to a computer and the internet is essential. Candidates will be asked to create an account on the BOHS hub website to gain access to:

  • Access templates for the compilation of the PLP 
  • Submit the Personal Learning Portfolio 
  • View feedback comments and assessment results
