BOHS announces the appointment of new Chief Executive Officer

BOHS, the Chartered Society for Worker Health Protection, is pleased to announce the appointment of its new Chief Executive Officer, Kevin Bampton.

Kevin, a Professor of Public Law, joins the Society after a career involving Higher Education Senior Management, the United Nations and International Development. He has worked extensively with Chartered and Professional Societies in the development of their professional services and qualifications. He also has a long-standing commitment to employment rights.

John Dobbie, BOHS President, said:

“Along with my fellow BOHS colleagues, I’m delighted that Kevin has joined BOHS. We strongly believe his experience, leadership, and breadth of knowledge will help position BOHS as a key influencer in the coming years and support our vision for a ‘healthy working environment for everyone’. We greatly look forward to working with Kevin and introducing him to our members at the OH2020 Conference in Bristol.”

Commenting on his new role, Kevin said:

“The right to a healthy working environment is at the heart of all employee well-being. Adults spend the majority of their waking lives at work and sadly the most likely causes of long-term ill-health are likely to be a reflection of the working environment. BOHS has been at the forefront of securing this right through the prevention of workplace illness, promotion of best practice and insights into future health challenges. It is a British Institution with international reach and I look forward to supporting its ever-greater impact.”
