Announcement of the Fellows
Something that we at FAAM are incredibly proud of is the launch of the Fellow level of membership. Some organisations use Fellowship as a recognition of past contributions to the industry. Here at FAAM we have taken a slightly different tack – yes what you have contributed to date (your seniority in the industry), but just as important is what you are going to do.
The very first Fellows have now been inaugurated, and I would like to echo what Joanthan Grant the FAAM Registrar said in the congratulations letter – this prestigious recognition reflects their outstanding contributions, expertise, and dedication to the field of asbestos assessment and management. The first Fellows indicate that it is not just hard headed consultants that are needed in this industry of ours. You will all know Colette Willoughby, AFOH FFAAM, both for her massive contribution as a consultant in the field, as the BOHS chief examiner for years, and also her pioneering work making sites safer for our female colleagues. But we also have Yvonne Waterman, FFAAM who is a lawyer and campaigner that has done so much to create international cooperation with her European Asbestos Forum. Joining Colette and Yvonne are Dave Birkin, FFAAM, Jason Hodgkiss, MFOH(S) FFAAM, Jonathan Grant, FFAAM, Samantha Collins, LFOH(S) FFAAM, Sara Mason, FFAAM and I am massively proud to say, yours truly.
