3rd UK Hearing Conservation Association Annual Conference – A Time for Change
The UK Hearing Conservation Association (UKHCA) is excited to announce its 3rd Annual Conference, taking place on 5 November at the Birmingham Conferences and Events Centre. This year’s theme is “A Time for Change: Listen Up – Change is Coming!”, and it promises to deliver insights into the latest developments in the field of hearing conservation and protection of hearing health.
Hearing loss currently affects 11 million people in the UK. The problem is growing; it’s anticipated that by 2035 there will be 15.6 million people in the UK with some form of hearing loss.
The conference is a vital platform for professionals to stay updated as the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) launches its new work plan focusing on noise. Attendees will gain exclusive access to the HSE’s initial findings from their recent round of inspections, offering insights for anyone involved in managing noise risks.
Clare Forshaw, founder and director of the UKHCA said: “Noise and hearing has for too long been tackled with out-of-date practices; an over reliance on PPE and poor noise consultancy focused on measurement. Things are changing fast and this event will help practitioners stay at the forefront of tackling noise proactively and protecting health and wellbeing.”
Key topics in the conference programme include:
- Hearing Protection & New Technology: Discover innovations that are shaping the future of hearing conservation.
- Health Surveillance & Checks: Stay informed on the latest health monitoring techniques to ensure workplace safety.
- Music & Entertainment Sector Challenges: Explore how changing listening habits and public health concerns are impacting this dynamic industry.
This conference offers a unique opportunity to hear from regulators, health professionals, acousticians, and academics at the forefront of protecting hearing health. It is designed for anyone responsible for managing noise risks, including professionals from academia, healthcare, and regulatory bodies.
With hearing conservation rapidly gaining attention across industries and regulatory frameworks, this is your chance to learn how you can lead the way in compliance and innovation.
