The Role
As an Occupational Hygiene Specialist Inspector, you will provide frontline regulatory inspection work across the agriculture, manufacturing, engineering, waste and recycling, education, health, utilities and transport, government and domestic gas sectors.
Joining a specialist regulatory team, you will inspect workplaces, identifying health risks and evaluating and eliminating or controlling them by providing in-depth technical expertise.
Intervening in businesses and enforcing the law, you will support Regulatory Inspectors and provide independent expert witness input to court, securing justice for sufferers of ill health in the workplace.
Additionally, you will:
- Seek to raise standards of control and clarify legal requirements
- Collaborate on projects and initiatives to review and inform health and safety policy
- Work with colleagues to influence strategic stakeholders and campaigns
About You
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- To be a current professional member of the British Occupational Hygiene Society, Faculty of Occupational Hygiene, at a minimum grade of Licentiate or Specialist Licentiate Grade
- A science-based Honours degree (or an equivalent qualification which includes the BOHS Certificate of Operational Competence in Occupational Hygiene or the International Certificate of Operational Competence in Occupational Hygiene)
- A full, valid driving licence
