Of her appointment as Chief Editor, Dr. Jones said, “I am honoured to have the opportunity to lead the Annals, and I appreciate the support and confidence of Noah, the Annals leadership and the BOHS. Noah’s work to distinguish the journal has been outstanding, and I look forward to new initiatives that his leadership has made possible, as well as to serving the occupational hygiene community through the publication and promotion of innovative, impactful occupational hygiene research and practice in the Annals.”
Kevin Bampton, CEO of BOHS, welcomed Dr. Jones: “We are really delighted to have Rachael taking on the role of the editorship of the Annals. It is a vital link between the scientific research community and the discipline of occupational hygiene which has a global role in preventing the deaths of people from exposure to hazards to health in the workplace. Rachael brings with her a pragmatic and innovative insight into how this relationship can be developed at a crucial time in the history of academic publishing. She builds on the impressive success of Noah Seixas, who has transformed the Journal into one of contemporary relevance, as highlighted by its vital role in accelerating the scientific response to COVID-19.”
“Dr. Rachael Jones’s acceptance of the position of Chief Editor of the Annals is most welcome. Given current events and Rachael’s research interests, the appointment is providential. We look forward to working with Rachael in the advancement of the science supporting the recognition, quantification and control of workplace exposure and health,” said Kelvin Williams, BOHS President.
