Events
We offer a packed calendar of meetings, seminars and visits which take place all over the country and are open to everyone. Full details of forthcoming events, as well as past events from which presentations/information is available, can be found on our Event Calendar.
Our regions hold a number of afternoon or evening meetings on a wide variety of topics. These are usually free and serve as a useful introduction to the Society for non-members. Site visits are also sometimes arranged, offering insights into occupational hygiene in practice.
Open technical seminars (sometimes referred to as OTSs) are developed by the SIGs. Current OTS topics cover COSHH, PPE, noise and vibration issues, biological agents in the workplace and asbestos training for analysts, and others are in the pipeline. The programmes evolve with the subjects they cover, ensuring they remain popular and relevant. And because they can roll from region to region, they’re genuinely national events at local venues. These can usually be booked and paid for on-line.
Our Annual Conference is the foremost European conference in this field, a three day event which covers all the latest themes and emerging issues within a professionally cosmopolitan environment. The Inhaled Particles Conference series, run approximately every five years, brings together researchers from a wide range of specialist disciplines to better understand the nature of inhalable particles and their effects once inhaled.
Other events of widespread interest include an ad-hoc topical selection of webinars, seminars and workshops, many of which are co-hosted with the HSE or other occupational health-related organisations. Where these are organised primarily by BOHS, they can also be booked and paid for on-line.
