Asbestos
Asbestos Awareness is designed as a BOHS Approved course providing basic knowledge and understanding of the risks from asbestos–containing materials (ACMs) in buildings and how these can be minimised.
Course aims
- Provide an appreciation of the health risks associated with asbestos and the importance of preventing and controlling exposure;
- Give a clear understanding of everybody’s roles and responsibilities concerning the management of asbestos–containing materials (ACMs). This will include employers, employees, safety representatives etc;
- Provide an overview of the main elements of the Duty to Manage Asbestos and what constitutes an Asbestos Management Plan;
- Give delegates the confidence to deal with surveyors, consultants and licensed asbestos removal contractors.
