FAAM Technician

This is the first step for those wishing to gain professional recognition as an asbestos professional.

It demonstrates you have relevant skills and knowledge, you are committed towards CPD, the Code of Ethics and your development, and ensures you remain relevant and employable.

As a Technician member you’ll be able to use the TFAAM post-nominals and access all the membership benefits and resources.

To become a Technician Member of the Faculty of Asbestos Assessment and Management, you will need: 

  1. One of the BOHS Level 4 qualifications: P401, P402, P403, P404, S301, W504, P406 and P408
  1. OR RSPH Level 4 Certificate in Asbestos Laboratory and Project Management 
  1. OR Other similar qualifications (please contact BOHS) 
  1. OR one of the RSPH qualifications: Level 3 Award in Asbestos Bulk Analysis*, Level 3 Award in Asbestos Surveying*, Level 3 Award in Asbestos Air Monitoring and Clearance Procedures*. 

*Holders of these qualifications will be required to pass the written examination for the corresponding BOHS P module to bridge the gap between their Level 3 qualification and the required Level 4 qualification.  The course is optional.  To book this exam, please click here 

If you have already achieved Technician membership, there is the option to progress to Associate membership. To become an Associate member, you will need; 

  • One of the Level 4 BOHS qualifications: P405, P407 
  • OR three from the BOHS qualifications: P401, P402, P403, P404, P406, P408, S301, W504

Your membership will be due for renewal on the anniverary of your payment each year, you will be sent reminders well in advance.
