Occupational hygiene is about the prevention of ill-health from work, through recognising, evaluating, and controlling the risks. Hygienists are in every type of workplace, and the cover photo of the March edition of BOHS's journal, Annals of Occupational Hygiene, shows that sometimes they get out in the sunshine! The issue contains two items about how to ensure that construction workers get enough to drink in hot-climate construction, and also papers on asthma in New Zealand, bacteria in duck houses, dust sampling, dustiness characterisation, and safety cabinets for cytotoxic drugs. Whatever the workplace health problem, occupational hygienists are likely to help find cost-effective solutions. [Photo ©iStockphoto.com/Ahmad Hamoudah ]
