London, South and South East England

This is an active region, with regular free meetings held in the evenings, generally with a good turnout of both members and non-members. These meetings are held at the Society for Chemical Industry in Belgrave Square in London, and recent topics have included second-hand tobacco smoke in the workplace, retrieving and using health and safety data from the internet, noise and vibration, occupational asthma and, most recently, asbestos training.  Where we have been able to get permission to use presentations from any of these events, these can be accessed via the Past Events page of the Event Calendar.

Both members and non-members are welcome to come along, or make suggestions for future topics and events.

The region has also been host to a number of open technical seminars, most recently ‘Let’s Get Physical’, which looked at the role of PPE in controlling exposure to physical agents, and 'COSHH: Current and developing issues' which was a popular and updated re-run of a seminar first held in Newcastle which looked at the revised COSHH Regulations and practical aspects of assessment and measurement.   Any forthcoming events in this region will be included in the Event Calendar.

Neil Peacock is the Regional Organiser.
