Webinars
Webinars are live, web-based tutorials with voice communication by a conventional conference telephone call. All you need to take part is a computer with a broadband internet connection, and a phone. Participants log onto a specific website to see the visual presentation and listen to the live commentary over the phone, and can ask questions and debate issues throughout.
BOHS has been running Webinars successfully since last year. They offer a very cost-effective and easy-to-attend means of updating yourself on a range of hot topics widely relevant to occupational health professionals.
They generally take place at 3pm (UK time) which allows for attendance from Europe, the US and Canada and other international locations. Typically, they cost just £30 (£20 for BOHS members) for an hour long session (although prices and session times may vary), which includes all phone charges from within the UK; additional phone charges will apply if you're calling from outside the UK, but these are usually charged at your local rate.
Topics already covered, or scheduled to take place, include COSHH, REACH, Material Safety Data Sheets, Latex Allergy, Control Banding and Metalworking Fluids & Dermatitis.
