Student Bursary Scheme
In 2006, BOHS launched a Bursary Scheme for students wanting to gain a higher education qualification in Occupational Hygiene. The most recent round of awards were announced in September 2008: Grace Akintunde, studying for an MSc in Occupational and Environmental Health and Safety Management at the University of Portsmouth, Emily Chan, studying for an MSc in Occupational Safety, Health and Environment at the University of Greenwich, Ruairí Ward, on the University of Manchester’s Occupational Hygiene MSc course, and Kasarachi Nnadede, also on the same University of Portsmouth course, have each been awarded a bursary to cover one year’s tuition fee.
Click here to read the full story. Twelve bursaries have now been awarded since the Scheme was launched in June 2006. Up to five bursaries will be offered every year, each one of up to £4,000 towards the payment of academic fees. The Scheme is open to all students either already registered on, or who have been offered a place on, any UK-based postgraduate course approved by the Faculty of Occupational Hygiene. Up to five bursaries will be awarded in any twelve month period. The closing date for the next round of applications is 31 January 2009.
