POOSH (Professional Organisations in Occupational Safety and Health) exists to promote the continuous improvement of the practice of occupational safety and health through education, communication and the encouragement of cooperation between all persons and agencies involved in the provision of a healthy and safe working environment. BOHS is one of the founding members of IOHA (the International Occupational Hygiene Association), which provides an international voice of the occupational hygiene profession through its recognition as a non-governmental organisation (NGO) by the ILO (International Labour Organisation) and WHO (World Health Organisation).
