cooking fumes Occupational hygiene is about the prevention of ill-health from work, through recognising, evaluating and controlling the risks. Papers in the current issue of BOHS's journal, Annals of Occupational Hygiene, come from nine countries and give examples of the range of problems that hygienists deal with: flour and other dusts, isocyanates, nanoparticles, wood pellets, cytotoxic drugs, skin exposure and cooking fume (illustrated here).  Hygienists can probably help you with cost-effective control of health risks whatever your workplace.  Click here to see the full-size picture.  [Photo by Joe Zlomek, www.wordwrks.com]
