Midlands Regional Meeting - Advances in Skin Surveillance
Wednesday, October 10, 2012
Start: 4pm
Finish: 6pm
Chris Packham will give this talk reviewing the importance of skin health surveillance and the various options that are available. This will include a mention of the new developments that are in the pipeline.
Chris will cover what is involved in setting up a practical skin health surveillance system, including training of competent persons to carry out regular skin checks and how to manage a problem should the skin health surveillance indicate this is needed. There will be various items of skin analysis equipment, in particular an instrument that allows us to determine the extent of skin damage due to factors such as UV and weather exposure and one that can indicate the UV protection factor that a particular person needs. The rest of the meeting will be a 'hands on' time for those present to see the equipment and have a go themselves.
This will be followed by a question and answer period where participants will be able to discuss with us their particular situation and get advice on how they could approach this.
