Instrumentation, Measurement and Reliability Open Technical Seminar
Wednesday, September 29, 2010
This meeting aims to provide a wide and varied programme for delegates to get an idea of the many things that can impact on the quality and reliability of measurements and control in the workplace. Modern approaches to capturing data, new instruments on the market (including noise and vibration measurement devices), new and improving approaches to estimating exposure, ensuring RPE does its job; these are just some of the issues to be discussed. How confident are you that the results you get are what they seem?
Who should attend: This meeting is important for occupational hygienists and occupational health and safety professionals either providing or commissioning specialist services to better understand and control exposures in the workplace.

New monitoring instruments for gas, VOCs, noise, vibration and dust will be featured on the Shawcity stand:-
- The new EVM7, indoor air quality monitor simultaneously measures and logs levels of dust, CO2, VOCs, CO, temp and humidity.
- The new Toxipro is a personal gas alarm providing an early warning of high levels of O2 or toxic gas.
- The new PHD6 is also a personal gas monitor but will simultaneously monitor 6 gases including explosive, toxic, O2 and VOC gases.
- The new Edge personal noise dose meter measures and indicates sound level, average, max, peak, dose. Simple and advanced sound level meters will again be featured.
- The HavPro hand-arm and whole body, personal vibration monitor and HavMeter vibration management instruments complete the line-up
Compliance is a particular specialty of Castle Group and we can help you achieve it in so many ways. It might be that you are best suited owning equipment and learning the art yourself, in which case, we can provide instrumentation and professional training courses to see the process through with you. It might be that you know what you are doing, but need some gear at short notice or for a short duration, in which case, we can hire it to you. Otherwise, you might simply like us to come and carry out the assessments for you, which is just a phone call away! However you want to tackle something, we’ll make sure that’s what happens!
- Noise and Vibration at Work Regulations
- Noise and Vibration in the Environment
- Air Sampling – indoors (COSHH), or out
- Gas Detection
